Course Information
If your child is in Years 7 to 10, being able to write clearly, creatively, and with confidence is an essential skill for school and life. The Pen to Paper: Essay & Creative Writing Workshop is designed to help students sharpen their writing, build confidence in their ideas, and explore their creativity – all in a fun, engaging environment that makes writing something to look forward to.


Content:
Focus: Essay structure, critical thinking & argument building
Students dive into the world of essay writing with fun warm-up activities that break the ice and get ideas flowing. They’ll explore how to structure an essay, craft strong arguments, and respond to prompts effectively. Using real examples and collaborative discussions, students will plan and write their own short response essays with guidance and feedback.
- Learn: Introduction, body, conclusion structure
- Practice: Persuasive writing techniques, brainstorming
- Engage: Group analysis and interactive mini debates
- Build: Confidence in expressing opinions clearly
Focus: Creative writing, story structure & imaginative expression
This day is all about unleashing creativity! Through games, prompts, and group storytelling challenges, students will learn how to develop engaging plots, create vivid characters, and use language to capture the reader’s imagination. They’ll plan and begin writing their own short stories, with opportunities to share ideas and receive encouraging feedback.
- Learn: Narrative arc, descriptive language, tone & voice
- Practice: Character creation, setting the scene
- Engage: Fun writing games and group storytelling
- Build: Joy in writing and creative risk-taking
Focus: Editing, reflection & performance
On the final day, students will refine their work, learn self-editing techniques, and strengthen their writing through revision. The workshop concludes with an optional and supportive “Writers’ Circle” where students can share their writing aloud. Parents are welcome to attend the final 15–20 minutes to see students present highlights of their work.

No, all students (new and currently enrolled) are welcome to attend our Holiday Courses.
In saying this, if you are interested in weekly tuition, feel free to Contact Us and we can discuss enrolment options.
Absolutely! Students will be able to take home all material at the end of the course. Students are encouraged to refer to the material at a later date if they need a reminder.
Our Holiday Course classes typically range from 4-10 students per centre.
Your child is more than welcome to attend the course online.
Simply call or email our Admin team letting them know that your child is unwell and we can discuss collection of the material from our centres and links for the online lesson.
