About Us
Our Founder, Principal & CEO, Sia Goutzas, established Maths Words not Squiggles (MWNS) in January 2003. Our centres provide quality Maths & English tuition for students in Kindergarten through to Year 12. We specialise in Individual Lessons as well as in Micro Groups, which consists of a maximum of 3 students. Our Learning Centres offer a safe, friendly environment that allows us to focus on the individual needs of each of our students.
Enrolment, Attendance & Rescheduling
Students may choose to enrol for a:
- Single Lesson
- Term Enrolment
- Ongoing Enrolment
Students are expected to attend their scheduled lessons on their allocated day & time each week. Parents and/or students may reschedule lessons up until 8pm the day before the scheduled lesson. If a lesson is not rescheduled within the current term, this lesson is forfeited. Lessons cancelled on the day may not be rescheduled due to the short notice provided. If a student forgets to attend a lesson, it will not be our responsibility to call & remind them. No credits or refunds will be issued for absences with or without notice, unless required by law.
Enrolment Pack
An Enrolment Pack will be issued to all students who enrol for a Term or an Ongoing Enrolment. Enrolment Packs include a Folder, Writing Book, Homework Sheet & Maths and/or English Workbook. Your child will need to bring their Enrolment Pack to each lesson as well as any additional material they require assistance with. A one-off $38 fee is charged per subject, each year, for the Enrolment Pack.
Teachers
Teachers are scheduled to teach on certain days throughout the week. If a teacher is absent, we will endeavour to find a replacement teacher. If we are unable to, we will notify you as soon as possible and give you the option to either have this lesson online, reschedule or apply a credit to your account.
Term Dates for 2024
Students are required to attend the full MWNS term independent of the school system they attend.
Term 1: Monday 29th January – Saturday 13th April
Term 2: Monday 29th April – Saturday 6th July
Term 3: Monday 22nd July – Sat 28th September
Term 4: Monday 14th October – Saturday 21st December
Tuition Fees
Primary: Kindy – Yr 6: Micro Group $58/hr | Individual $91/hr
Secondary: Yr 7 – Yr 10: Micro Group $63/hr | Individual $96/hr
Senior: Yr 11 – Yr 12: Micro Group $68/hr | Individual $96/hr
Payment Options
We accept Cash, Credit Card, Bank Transfers or Automatic Payment Schedule through Ezidebit.
All Ongoing Enrolments need to set up an Automatic Payment Schedule which will be processed either Fortnightly or for each Term.
Public Holidays
Our Centres are closed on Public Holidays, and no fees are charged for these days.Â
Pupil Free Days
Lessons are conducted on Pupil Free Days as they vary for different schools.
Notice to Withdraw
If your child no longer requires tuition, and you wish to withdraw them, we will require 14 days’ notice. Your child is welcome to attend their scheduled lessons during the notice period. All withdrawals must be provided via email: admin@mwns.com.au
Credit Policy
If you have withdrawn your child, a credit for the balance of the term’s fees will be applied to your account.
We do not offer refunds, unless required by law.
