Opportunity Class (OC) Holiday Course

No, all students (new and currently enrolled) are welcome to attend our Holiday Courses.
In saying this, if you are interested in weekly tuition, feel free to contact us and we can discuss enrolment options.

Absolutely! Students will be able to take home all material at the end of the course. Students are encouraged to refer to the material at a later date if they need a reminder.

OC Test preparation courses specifically focus on enhancing students’ abilities in three core testing areas — Reading, Mathematical Reasoning and Thinking Skills.
The Reading component aims to improve comprehension, interpretation and analytical skills across various texts, including literary and informational materials.
Mathematical Reasoning covers a broad spectrum of mathematical concepts, from basic arithmetic to more complex topics like number sequencing, geometry and data interpretation, designed to bolster numerical problem-solving capabilities.
Thinking Skills development is crucial for these courses, emphasising logical reasoning, pattern recognition and critical thinking, essential for tackling verbal and non-verbal reasoning questions.
More information can be found at the top of this website page.

Our Holiday Course classes typically range from 4-10 students and depend on the number of enrolments per centre.

Your child is more than welcome to attend the course online.

Simply call or email our Admin team letting them know that your child is unwell and we can discuss collection of the material from our centres and links for the online lesson.

Opportunity Class (OC) Weekly Tuition

OC Test preparation tutoring classes equip students with the skills, knowledge and strategies needed to excel in the OC placement test, which is highly competitive and designed for academically gifted students in New South Wales, Australia.

These classes focus on enhancing students’ mathematics, reading, thinking skills and writing abilities while improving their test-taking strategies, time management and confidence.

By attending OC preparation classes, students can tackle the challenging questions they will face on the exam, significantly increasing their chances of securing a place in an Opportunity Class.

Students can attend our OC preparation classes in person at any of our 7 centres or online from the comfort of their own home.

Students should begin their OC Test preparation at least a year before the test date, typically in Year 3, to ensure they have ample time to develop the necessary skills and confidence.

Starting early allows for a gradual and thorough understanding of the test material, reduces last-minute stress and provides opportunities for identifying and strengthening any areas of weakness.

This timeline helps students become accustomed to the test format and time constraints, making them more competent and comfortable when taking the actual test.

Yes, OC Test preparation tutors provide a range of practice exams and materials designed to closely mirror the format and content of the actual OC Test. These resources include sample questions, practice tests, worksheets and customised study materials that cover the key subjects of Reading, Mathematical Reasoning and Thinking Skills.

The practice exams are particularly valuable as they help students familiarise themselves with the test structure, timing and types of questions they encounter, enhancing their confidence and exam-taking strategies.
