Tutoring
Parents and/or students may reschedule lessons up until the day before the scheduled session. We require 24 hours notice or a doctor’s certificate to reschedule a lesson. If a lesson is not rescheduled within the current term, this lesson will be forfeited. No credits or refunds will be issued for absences.
If your child is slightly unwell, they are more than welcome to stay home and join their lesson online. If they are feeling quite unwell and you are able to provide us with a doctor’s certificate, we would be more than happy to reschedule their lesson to another day throughout the current term.
We accept Cash, Credit Card, Bank Transfers or Automatic Payment Schedule through Ezidebit. All Ongoing Enrolments need to set up an Automatic Payment Schedule which will be processed either Fortnightly or for each Term.
No. Our Centres are closed on Public Holidays and no fees are charged for these days. Public Holidays which we celebrate during the year are: Australia Day, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, Anzac Day, King’s Birthday & Labour Day.
Yes. Lessons are conducted on Pupil Free Days as they vary for different schools.
If your child no longer requires tuition, and you wish to withdraw them, we will require 14 days’ notice. Your child is welcome to attend their scheduled lessons during the notice period. All withdrawals must be provided via email (admin@mwns.com.au). If you have withdrawn your child, a credit for the balance of the term’s fees will be applied to your account. We do not offer refunds.
Assessments
The Assessment will provide you with a real-time view of how your child is progressing for their year level. It will also allow us to focus on any areas of weakness if you do decide to begin tuition at MWNS.
Each Assessment takes approximately 50 minutes to complete (per subject). However, each student is different so please allow up to an hour. You are welcome to wait in our Waiting Area whilst your child completes their Assessment or simply take the time off to enjoy a coffee at one of our local cafes.
Each Assessment covers all topics that a student needs to know for that school year. We have certain metrics in place allowing us to obtain an overview of your child’s abilities through their results.
Simply call or email our Admin team letting them know that your child is unable to complete the Assessment and we will be in touch to reschedule it to another day. We hope your little one feels better soon!
Yes, you do. Our Curriculum Coordinator marks the completed Assessment, reviews the results by topic areas and works with our assessment tools to provide you with detailed insights into how your child performed. The report will be emailed to you within a few days of your child sitting the Assessment.
Our Assessments will be an accurate reflection of your child’s performance. It will allow you to decide if tutoring will be helpful or simply give you the peace of mind that they have not fallen behind. There is no obligation for you to enrol, whatever the outcome.

Our Teachers
Our definition of a qualified teacher is a person who has completed training recognised by the Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), such as a degree or diploma. Almost all of our teachers are either qualified or working towards their qualification at University or TAFE. A handful of our teachers are not qualified on that basis, however, they are experienced in tutoring and have passed Sia’s high standards before being employed.
Teachers are scheduled to teach on certain days throughout the week. If a teacher is absent, we will endeavour to find a replacement. If we are unable to do so, we will notify you as soon as possible and give you the option to either reschedule this lesson or have a credit applied to your account.
Absolutely! You are more than welcome to speak with your child’s tutor before or after their lesson if you are able to come into the centre. Alternatively, you are more than welcome to send an email to your Centre Coordinator and they will be sure to pass on your message prior to your child’s lesson.
